The Game Show I like Best

One of the best parts about watching Direct TV is the tremendous amount of the old game shows that are available. I really like catching old episodes of Family Feud. Starting with Richard Dawson and running through Ray Combs, louie Anderson, Richard Karn and John O’Hurley, this series has prevailed despite the ever changing shift of the host.

Two families are paired off in competition, with each trying to guess the results of a survey given to 100 people. It starts with a face off where each person tries to beat the other to the punch after given the question. The first one doesn’t always give the highest rated answer however. The winner of this showdown is then given the option to pass or play. Many times the family that plays only gets one or two more answers right, (before 3 strikes or misses) giving the competition the chance to ’steal’. If they then get one more right, they win the entire pot that has accumulated.

Once a family wins $300, they have a chance to play for $20000. Two people are selected, with one offstage in a soundproof booth. They each then guess at another survey with the goal being 200 points total between them.

It is often hilarious to see some of the answers posed when an alternative can’t be thought of quickly.

Royal Pains Series

My wife has taken to watching the series Royal Pains lately. It’s about a talented, young ER doctor, Henry “Hank” Lawson, played by Mark Feuerstein who was wrongly blamed for the death of his rich patient in the hospital. Jobless, depressed, and dumped by his girlfriend he spent the next several weeks cooped up in his apartment until his brother, Evan R. Lawson, played by Paulo Costanzo took him to Hamptons to forget things. Pretty soon he found himself intervening into a medical emergency after the physician made the wrong diagnosis. The billionaire, Boris, was impressed by the skills of Hank and offered him a job as a concierge doctor for the wealthy at the Hamptons but he refused. Boris was not a person to be refused at and he left a sizeable payment of – guess what – not gold coins but a huge gold bullion! Hank was not impressed but pretty soon he found his phone ringing with emergency calls from wealthy clients all over the Hamptons. His kind heart couldn’t refuse to help the people who are in need and who are so trusting of him that he finally agreed to be a concierge doctor. His help is not limited to the rich though as he helps even people he meets in the street like the dog walker bitten by a dog.

Kitchen Nightmares On The BBC

If you are a fan Hell’s kitchen then you might enjoy watching Kitchen Nightmares starring Gordon Ramsay. Kitchen Nightmares is all about going to different fine dinning restaurants that are on the verge of closing. Gordon will go to the restaurant and try and share his knowledge of what needs to be changed to be successful and help the restaurant get back up on it’s feet again. This of course is just like Hell’s kitchen in the way that Gordon Ramsay does not go easy on these restaurant owners in any way. He expects when you ask for advice on how to run a proper restaurant that you take it, and there have been plenty of heated arguments on the show were the restaurant owners are not willing to change anything because they feel that they are doing it the right way, but of course let’s them know that if they were doing everything right in their restaurant then the restaurant would not be on the verge of closing. One of the best parts to see in the show is when it first starts and Gordon tests the food to see what quality of chefs he will be working with and most of the time he will do a little prayer before the meal to ask God to not give him food poisoning. Sometimes that does not work to his advantage because he will go and look over the food stock and find rotting food in the back or he will find bugs crawling all over the place. He remodels almost all of the restaurants for the reopening to draw new customers in. This does not always go as smoothly as planned, but sometimes it is the thing that turns the whole restaurant around. Just keep in mind that some of these shows are not something you want to watch if rotting food and bugs make you squeamish. If you are a foodie or love these kind of shows then you might want to check out Kitchen Nightmares on a new night Wednesdays 8/7 central time on channel 264 if you check with direct tv customer service.

Watch Puppy Bowl 2010

I just heard about the Puppy Bowl 2010 and oh, I love it already! This cute event is held the same weekend as the Super Bowl.

The Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl is already on its sixth season. If you get bored watching sweaty males tackle each other on the field then I’m sure you won’t mind watching adorable puppies do it instead. This year’s Puppy Bowl will feature 43 cute and cuddly puppies. They will be released in an octagon field equipped with cameras all over so that we will catch all the cute action they’re going to do inside. They will try to win our heart’s out by playing with footbal

Puppy Bowl VI is a two-hour event which will kick off at 3 pm on Animal Planet. The most awaited part is the halftime which will feature – what else – but furry kittens.

Watch Vampire Diaries Season 1 Episode 15: A Few Good Men. We’re already halfway in the season and it’s just getting more and more thrilling. I heard because of all of us who have been watching the Vampire Diaries avidly the original 13 episode series was extended to 22! Yey! The season finally would be aired on May 13, 2010 and there’s already an average of 3.91 viewers – yes, that’s in million – to date. Although the first episode received mixed the TV critics agree that the series is just getting better and better per episode.

For the previous episode here’s what happened,
