Finally we get to meet Naruto’s mother! At first Naruto thought that she was the true form of Nine Tails, but then he figured that he looked a lot like his mom. After being saved by his Father a few chapters back, now it is Naruto’s mother that saved her from the Kyuubi. Another chapter of great revelations, and note that this is just the beginning of a lot more important revelations.

The long awaited battle between the Jinchuuriki (host) and the Biju (tailed beast) is finally here! Naruto confronts his inner nemesis, the Kyuubi (nine-tails) that was trapped inside his body by his father – the 5th Hokage – on the day he was born. The battle was fierce, and it would seem that Naruto has won, until the Kyuubi starts pulling up his Chakra. Don’t despair though because a new character was introduced to assist Naruto in subduing the Kyuubi – his “mother”!

Naruto Chapter 496: Meeting the Nine Tails Once Again

It’s been a while since I reviewed the Naruto Manga series, so here is hoping I will be able to keep up. For this particular chapter, Naruto is about to confront the Nine Tails to finally take control of it’s power. The Manga hints on a lot of long time questions being answered in the coming chapters. Woo hoo!

Naruto Chapter 495: Crush Dark Naruto

Finally, Naruto was able to defeat his alter ego. With the help of Killer Bee, he finally understood what is needed for him to beat his dark side. And he did it by accepting and hugging (ugh) the bad guy version of himself. It’s quite bleh – but oh well it was expected. At least it was better than watching Naruto do a stroll on a treadmill, so hopefully the boring part is over. Next chapter will be a fight between Naruto and the Kyuubi. That will be awesome. The Kyuubi will probably reveal a few more secrets to Naruto – which is one of the most awesome aspects of this Anime. For now, at least Naruto has a good teacher – with an Akatsuki as his sword…

Konohamaru and Z

Earlier Z and myself watched the latest subbed episode of our favorite anime – Naruto! On this particular episode – Naruto Shippuuden 161 – we have quite a twist from all the rampage. This was a fun episode for Z, because Konohamaru fought with Pain. The first part of the episode showed Pain as someone really powerful, and you can see in Z’s face that he was quite intimidated by Pain. I was “narrating” as we were watching so Z felt the excitement as Pain charged to attack Konohamaru. And to his surprise – Konahamaru defeated Pain and using Z’s favorite ninjutsu – the “Rasengan”. He was so ecstatic that we had to replay the scene a couple more times before he said we could finish it. Hehe, that’s Z for you.

Naruto Chapter 494: Killer Bee and Motoi

Chapter 494 has been subbed! The title is Naruto Chapter 494: Killer Bee and Motoi. This shows the back story of Motoi and Killer Bee. It’s the usual style of Naruto – giving full details of the story for even the least of the characters. If you put that in a movie – it’s like giving the side story of a killed drone! Oh well we can’t complain – at least now we know how awesome Killer Bee is – besides from his aweful “rap” and “hiphop” antics, he is shown as a kind and compassionate individual. Can’t wait for the next chapter.

Naruto Chapter 493: Dark Naruto

Here we have it Naruto Chapter 493 – Dark Naruto. After all the excitement from the previous chapters – we are back to boring arcs. This chapter just shows how Naruto has to beat “himself” before he can fully control the Kyuubi. Fighting with yourself or a clone is one of the most rundown arc in animes or sentai shows. Unless we’re in for a big twist – like Dark Naruto taking over Naruto – we all know where this is headed for. And the sad little Naruto story has been used and abused for so long now, time for them to move on and think of something else. At least we get some more information about Killer Bee… Another so-so chapter.

Naruto Chapter 492: Greetings

Nothing much to see here. Naruto was sent to a “secret island” to hide from the Akatsuki. He also meets the Octoninja – Killer bee. Most of the chapter just gives a brief background about why the Jinchuuriki’s are there. What I am curious though is why Gai – was with Naruto on the island. I smell a Gai vs. Kisame part II fight real soon. The sad thing though is that Gai might perish. If you look at the the trend – anytime an Akatsuki member is beaten by Konoha – someone important to the village dies. We will have to wait to find out.

Naruto Shippuden Movie: “Inheritors of the Will of Fire” – Review

Quoting from my other blog, here is my review of the above mentioned movie. “Naruto Shippuden Movie – “Inheritors of the Will of Fire” is the 3rd movie that was released for the Naruto Franchise. I just finished watching it with Z and I have to say it was really good. I was not able to enjoy it fully because my son wants me to translate each line to him so I end up reading the subtitles and simultaneously explaining to him the lines and whatever is happening. We also have to pause whenever a “jutsu” is performed, because Z wants me to teach him the “hand seals”. He was excited all the time, because there were a lot of actions in the movie. Another plus is that almost all of Naruto’s contemporaries are there. The downside I should say is that the enemies are too weak, and took only a few minutes for the different teams to finish off. Anyway the story is pretty straightforward, some old guy wants to assimilate 5 bloodline limit skills and the 5th one happens to be Kakashi. Without giving out too many spoilers, let me just say that the Moral of the story was really good. Bottom line is that the true way of success is not by doing it on your own – but by “bonding” with others – quite deep for a cartoon huh?” I will give this movie a 4.5 out of 5. Naruto Chapter 491 – Jinchuuriki Confined

This chapter is not as mysterious or as exciting as the previous one. It simply showed how Naruto is now allowed to gain access to the full chakra of the Bijuu within him, which is the nine tailed fox. After being trained by frogs for his Sage Mode technique, he will now be undergoing a new kind of training. At least now he doesn’t have to deal with worm candies or else he might have to check on colonix for some treatment. Anway you guessed it right, he will be trained to fully control the Kyuubi (nine tailed fox), and he will be trained by the ultimate Jinchuuriki himself – Killer Bee. Imagine being in Sage mode and full 9 tail fox at the same time. That would be awesome.
