Here are my thoughts on the new MMO, Dragon Nest, with its anime style graphics and dungeon style map and game play.
I’ve played a lot of MMO games, and Dragon Nest is my latest venture into the land of virtual adventures.
Since Dragon Nest is relatively new, there are still a lot of limitations, for starters guys are only limited to Warrior and Cleric type characters, and even if you cross dress as a female, you can only have Mage and Archer type characters. The starting selection is currently too traditional and limited, but hopefully that will change in the future.
The graphics is OK for the most part, the scenery, backgrounds and buildings are all well implemented but sadly the characters graphics are like failed attempts at Anime for me. To be fair the costumes look good, they even show earrings when you were them, not sure if diamond rings would show up though.
I wonder why the game size of Dragon Nest is already at 1.9 GB, I was expecting tremendous improvements in graphics and audio with that big a file. Sadly it did not deliver much in these aspects. I remember even WOW was not that big back in 2009 when I played, but the graphics and sound were good.
Speaking of sound, that is another downside for Dragon Nest, I was expecting to hear voices when you speak with NPCs for quests but sadly there are none.
What makes Dragon Nest special is its fast paced fight mechanics. Its like taking the concept of button mashing games like God of War and turned it into an MMO. You get to mash for random combos or mix and match your skills and attacks for the most efficient and awe inspiring combos. This alone makes the game worth playing. I also like the idea of being able to select difficulty levels for each dungeon.
I haven’t progressed too far into the game so I will provide future follow up reviews, so far I will give it a 4 out of 5 as I am satisfied with Dragon Nest.

But… Dragon Nest characters have voices, all the NPCs and cutscenes are voiced, probably the version you played was unfinished.
Frankly I’m not fond on the Korean and English voices, the characters and mostly NPC have good voices, but the cutscenes are lifeless. Cherry Credtis english is the worst dub job of all.
Japanese cast is best hands down, they got a lot of professional voice actors that worked in several anime, movies and video games already. If you use the japanese voices you will notice the sudden quality upgrade.
