Visiting the Ozarks for the Holidays

Post contributed by Hilton Miranda

This holiday season I traveled to the Ozarks in Southern Missouri. I was grateful to avoid the nasty weather that so much of the rest of the country had received. Since I was driving from Texas, it took about fifteen hours to get to my destination near Branson, MO in the heart of the Ozarks.

My brother Joey traveled with me and drove me nuts singing out-of-tune Christmas songs and we also took my dog Flash along with us who snored in the backseat the entire drive. Before I left home, I made sure to set my home security alarm from BESTHOMESECURITY.com. The last thing I want after the holidays is to come home to a home that has been broken into!

Since we took turns driving, the trip seemed to go by pretty fast and our extended cousins were happy to see us. We only get to spend time with them once a year so we always enjoy this holiday season with them and the Ozarks are beautiful this time of year. We visited Silver Dollar City and toured their amazing Christmas light display. There were over four million lights lit up. It is no wonder Silver Dollar City is nationally-known for its Christmas displays!
