That’s really bad. A 3G mobile phone can beat that speed, particularly if you were using Globe as I did! I only use my phone (Nokia N70) as a modem to my pc and I’ve got 45 kbps speed. I’m on prepaid. I use SUPERSURF for this. Well, I bet SMART is working with PLDT. They are on the same company. Well, at least use other networks like Globe, Sun or BayanTel. Their much more reliable than the two above.
My brother is on PLDT myDSL since mid-June.For two weeks they had stop-and-go internet connection. After that, the router cant even connect to their server. This has been going on for the past 3 weeks.Their tech support agents (online & onsite) keeps insisting that my brother’s pc is the problem which is barely 2 months old.I run diagnostics and resulted to “cant find DNS…blah…blah…” which is a problem on PLDT’s server.I connected my windows 7 laptop and another desktop with WinXP but still no luck.I couldnt find the logic of blaming a pc(3 to be exact) for no connection.Still PLDT continues on the billing despite the problem. And when you decide to opt out of the plan, then there’s the early termination fee… WTF!
Please do not apply for internet connection with PLDT…they have poor CS performance…poor net speed…and poor response…if i’m going to rate them…i’ll be giving them 1/10 for the effort…sorry PLDT but that is the truth about PLDT MyDSL…
Your blog is true, I have facebook recommend to my friends, and support you.
What I did with this kind of PLDT issues is that I use the Google DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) or the OpenDNS instead of the default PLDT DNS. This will at least solve the DNS problems of the provider which I usually encounter when I revert to the original ‘Obtain DNS setting’.
